Keto has been boosting in popularity in the last 5 years – and some of this exponential growth is due to some of loved and hated celebrities we cheer on in the public.  Watching these figures some people have discovered the Keto through them either promoting it out loud or mentioning it quietly.  Below are some of the popular Celebs that have done Keto or are still doing it till this day.

1 -Gwyneth Paltrow

Being a famous health advocate – it might be fair to be sceptical of Gwyneth and her website Goop’s advice on Keto with some questionable products being sold for excessive rates such as the Anxiety stickers (each sticker cost 60-$120).  However she divulged that she had been doing Keto on and off since 2016 and found its done her a world of good – and wishes she had discovered it earlier

2 – Jessica Biel

Jessica with her new husband Justin Timberlake and new young baby knows all about exhaustion and went out of the way to find something that gave her more energy.  Discovering the Keto diet it made all the difference to her gaining energy and an overall better wellbeing.  She now juggles between Keto and Paleo – the sister precursor diet to Keto, and recommends it to anyone willing to give new things a go.

“Honestly, I just feel better when I don’t have gluten or wheat or dairy. My digestion is better, I feel better, I have more energy.”

3 – Vanessa Hudgens

Since going Keto Vanessa has dropped 15 pounts, which is a lot already considering her slimmer weight, proving again that Keto is rewarding for all body types and sizes.  She said in a recent interview:

No carbs dairy or added sugar. Just eating real foods. It’s literally high-fat and high-protein. I think that we’ve been brainwashed to think that fat is bad, but really, it’s what going to make you feel fuller longer. And your body can burn it and use it as fuel.

4 – Joe Rogan

Any search on Joe Rogan is like to bring up his advocation for health and fitness – and his many podcasts and discussions using the Ketogenic diets.  Joe Rogan was actually the first person that I learnt about Keto from and it took another  year before I actually took the plunge so props to him for preaching the good news !

5 – Tim Ferris

Ferris is well known for maximising health and your life as an entrepreneur and motivational speaker.  Spending many years in start ups and juggling many businesses health, focus and nutrition are key – and Keto is one of those life hacks that any motivated person should know about – promoting its good use in silicon valley and beyond.  Tim now promotes ketone bodies like BHB – however will switch between carb and keto with his now fat adapted state that he achieved (running on both carbs and ketones at the same time – a result of long keto dieting).

6 – Drew Carey

Everyone knows that Drew Carey dropped a lot of weight a few years ago.  What they may not know is how – and you guessed it – it was KETO!  For 10 months Drew was in ketosis, he slipped up a few times but was very focused.  And for the last 6 years he has been living the ketogenic lifestyle and has yet to put the weight back on!  Go on you Drew!

I have cheated a couple of times, but basically no carbs, not even a cracker. No bread at all. No pizza. Nothing. No corn. No bean. No starches of any kind.

7 – Megan Fox

Everyone was questioning her physique in early 2017 post baby body – and she finally confirmed she was using a mixture of paleo and keto (Also known as Cyclic Keto Dieting),

I’ve had to eliminate bread from my diet, so I’m on that high-protein and fat, but very low-carbohydrate, very low-sugar diet. You are able to expend more energy without being exhausted.

8 – LeBron James

Being a high performance athlete and largely active with interviews, social events and family life; has stated in a Sports Illustrated Interview that he went 67 days with no carbs or sugar during which he lost a lot of weight and has managed to maintain it.  Although he discusses his diet as “All I ate was meat, fish, veggies and fruit”.  Dietiticians that looked at his diet would say that for periods of this he would have reached ketosis – and although he was doing Paleo – would have been actually doing Keto most days of the week.
